The Bookcity Culture Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of the Bookcity International Picture Book Awards, which aims to promote the works of talented emerging authors and

illustratiors from around the world and serve as a platform for dynamic communication and interaction between international picture books and the domestic market. We look forward to

your interest and participation in the first Bookcity International Picture Book Awards.

1. Overview
   □ Project : 2023 Bookcity International Picture Book Awards
   □ Purpose : To discover and showcase exceptional picture books by emerging authors and illustrators from both Korea and abroad, and to contribute to international exchange and the

development of the picture book market through special exhibitions and support for the production of promotional materials.
   □ Award Categories
     o Cartegory 1. International New Picture Book Authors & illustrators(3 recipients) : Awarded to emerging authors whose first books have been published outside of Korea
     o Cartegory 2. Bookcity New Picture Book Authors & illustrators(1 recipient) : Awarded to an emerging author whose first book has been published by a resident publisher of Paju Bookcity 
   □ Prizes & Benefits :
     -  Cash prize of 5 million KRW and a trophy for each winner
       · Special exhibition of the entries
       · Production and distribution of promotional materials for translation and  publication in Korea and abroad 
   □ Entry Deadline : August 27, 2023 (24:00 KST)
   □ Eligibility
     o Candidates : Emerging authors and illustrators who have published their first book 
     o Books 
       - published within 2 years of the announcement date (2021.07.03 ~ 2023.07.02)
       - Books in circulation under contract with a publisher in one or more countries 
       - books in which text and pictures are in harmony, and wordless picture books that can be understood only through illustrations

   □ How to Submit :
